Raises an interesting question though. What fuel do you guys run?

I have always run 98 where possible, 95 if it's the only thing on offer.
I suppose being carby and not high compression it doesnt really matter, but I prefer the good stuff =D

What do you run your $2000 beasty on?

I've always run my cars on 98 or 95, and they have better response and better mileage for doing so.

I really irks me when I see people rocking up to the gas station with hi po vehicles and they pump in 91, especially in summer when they tend to ping.

Bikes I guess are a different story

I've never had knocking or pinging from running anything on with 91.
I've heard stories of better milage with higher octane, but still not convinced.

I run mine on 91 aye, but I always keep the headlight fluid topped.

Not all the time, I've driven Gen3 V8 Holdens that felt massively underpowered. Turns out, when on 91 unleaded you're running 160kw@the treads, 20-30kw down on a healthy one on 98. Because the knock sensor goes spastic and retards the timing

It's not a matter of good or bad, it's a matter of slow burning vs fast burning. You actually want the lowest octane rating without detonation. But hey, feel free to piss your money away on something your bike may not be taking advantage of.

Yes you can hear it when it detonates. Most likely to happen at low rpm under lots of load and when it's hot.

With stock (low) compression you will not see benefits from a high octane fuel.

Oh! Take the fuel tank off too, allows more air flow to the carbs,
and keeps the flux capacitor at a steady level.

Make sure you use the blue power band for a 125, or you will blow the boost controller..
