Applying for extra conditions on your license?

So both jobs I work I can finish as late as 2am in the morning, and I am on my restricted license, which means I'm breaking my 10 pm curfew. Had a run in with a policeman the other night, I explained my circumstances but he pretty much said tough shit, walk home, if I catch you again ill get you for it.

I heard on a car license you can apply on your restricted to take family members in your car etc.? Is it possible to apply for a late curfew with a restricted bike license? Also where do I go to get this done?

    Cheers

You apply for an exemption on your license conditions, namely, to be able to ride later. Evidence is good, more better than less, so if you can, a letter from the employers would be excellent stuff. As a side note, you can apply for an exemption for any license condition.

yup, what he said above. Get letters from your employers. Having that condition will probably be STRICTLY for the purpose of work and they might even dictate to you which route you are expected to take. If you get pulled over outside your hours, and have deviated, youll probably lose the conditions, and get a lovely big fine.

You should be able to get an exemption without too much trouble, you'll have to show that it's not practical to use other transport and you'll almost certainly have to follow a certain route.

That said, why did you get pulled over and licence checked in the first place? Best to be on best behaviour if you're out after curfew and should'na outa be ;-)

so what happened when he found out it wasnt and was pathetic enough to give the guy a ticket for riding home from work past his curfew.... but i guess he`s got to do something to get that slap on the butt after the group shower back at the station...

But back on topic dont be suprised if you get declined from the ltsa, i had my restricted working at a bikeshop, and my boss tried getting an exemption for riding bikes over 250cc just to ride to the vtnz and back 10mins away for wof/vinning purposes but got declined saying current license is suitable or something pretty sure they didnt even read what we were asking

Yep, Gremlin is pretty much on the money here. Put forward a compelling argument, with evidence, and they will definitely consider it. I had exemptions from both the curfew and the 250cc limit.
