Lots of drivers in Auckland are so self-absorbed in their own world it's a wonder there aren't waaaay more accidents than there are. Most give a great impression of believing that they're the only important person on the road on their way to an important appointment in their large space hogging transportation devices and blinkers attached (to avoid seeing all those pesky cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians).

Ouch.

but I'll stick by that - I see atrocious driving every day while out and about. Then, toss in less-than-ideal-weather conditions and ... nothing changes!!! (still drive as badly)

Don't knock the article, it didn't mention or blame motorcyclists at all!

True, then again it's probably asking too much for something positive about bikers in the media.
