    Visor cleaning?

Is anyone able to give me advice of what is best to use to clean a visor and helmet?
I confess to know everything there is to know about absolutely nothing at all!!!

Pledge is both better and cheaper than that ludicrously overpriced Plexus nonsense. Not only does it clean well, it also lets water bead up nicely so it blows away in the wind.

I recently washed my (then) new visor under warm water with soap. This turned out to be a bad move as the anti-fog coating on the inside sort of "melted" and I had a shit of a time to correct the resulting blurring. I rinsed it again under a warm tap to soften the coating then used Her Indoors hair dryer to dry it - crystal clear again. Now I stick to Pledge and don't wash the inside. Thanks for the tip, Hitcher.

Yer... gone away from the pledge idea, it leaves a waxy coating that can make vis into the sun a bit difficult.
Get a synthetic chamois from the 2 dorrar shop, soak it in hot water and drape it over the visor for a minute or so... that'll soften the bugs and oil and stuff.
Then wash it out in clean water and put some barrs bugs on it and clean the visor.
Comes up real "U" beauty.. .....

I do the dishes in HOT soapy water and then i pull my visor off and use the rest of the HOT soapy water and a clean dish cloth (Chux cloth). That removes all the crap and then rinse with hot water and leave to dry on a towel. Be good to apply a water beading product... any other potential products?

Definately use Pledge BUT: always use the lemon one (better wax content) and never use too much. It will buff perfectly clear if you dont use to much. Also use it for polishing your whole bike. It's amazing stuff. Dont put it on your seat though !

I wash my husband's race motorcross helmet this way too (but only if he isn't looking) dunk it in the dishwashing water gets the mud off it!

I use the same stuff on the visor of my helmet, that I use on my glasses and it cleans well. You can get it cheap from Specsavers

rinse the crap like bugs, sand, salt off under running warm water and then pledge. I use a micro fibre cloth bought from The Warehouse as a PC screen cleaner, don't use paper towels as they scratch.

Huh? Clean the visor in dirty dishwater???

Just rinse off under a hot tap and let dry, then apply the pledge and polish off with a soft cotton rag.

Give Plexus a go. Cleans better than Pledge, has less light scatter at night than Pledge, smells better than Pledge, doesn't cost very much (maybe 20c a week?), and beads water better than Pledge, and unlike Pledge you can't apply too much.

I put my helmet in the dishwasher.

I find finish powerball 3in1 tablets are the best.
