depends on how long his list of engine mods is..

Regarding tires...and really anything else about the ninja250 you should check out what faq.ninja250.org/wiki has to say about it.

    For tires:
    http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/About_wider_tires
    and your choices
    http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/What_ti...fit_the_250%3F
and if you have an ex250j
    http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/J_Tires

As for exhaust, I wouldn't bother...yes your bike sounds like a sewing machine. No it's not worth getting a better exhaust for it.

    1. Rear Fender Eliminator - does this cause problems with spray? Like, am I gona have water sprayed up my back or something when riding in the wet?

    2. Performance Muffler - Basically one that makes it sound cooler. Did you have any drop in fuel economy?

    3. 150mm rear tire - Anyone done this? Did it affect power/economy?

    Thanks for your help!
Yoshi... just makes it sound like a throatier lawnmower. And will mean you'll have to get the carbs jetted. 150mm rear **tyre**, bike was made for 130... All it'll do is make the bike look better standing but handling etc won't necessarily improve so I've heard. Turn the nimble forgiving thing into a pig.

Really sounds like a waste of money, I bought mine with the mods already done and I hate to think what kind of loss the guy made off it. But my gain I guess.

Fuel eco is around 22-25km/l but I'm guessing that's around the same as stock?

Thanks for the replies! "Performance" muffler was probably not the best description..."after market"? "growlier"?

The way I see it, you don't buy a 250 ninja for performance/speed...you buy it cos you're on a restricted licence/it's cheaper to run and register, and it looks cool (for a 250). So in terms of...well, exhaust or tires, I don't want to upgrade cos it'll make it race better. The bicycle tire on the back is the one thing (in my eyes) that lets it down for looks, and the sound doesn't match what, otherwise, is a cool looking bike.

I agree though, don't want one of those obnoxiously loud exhausts...they're annoying. But would be cool if it were a little throatier.

I ended up getting a 140/70 on the back. I know people are running 150s (and they say safely)...but the guy at the shop drew pictures and explained all the physics, and I was gona feel like a tool if I was like, yeah nah, can I have it anyway? So far, liking the 140 lots.

Thanks heaps for all your advice and for sharing your experience! I appreciate it

I was getting ~28, but after coming off learners and increasing speed, it dropped to ~25. Which was stock
