ZXR400 rim size problem - WTF?

I appear to have fallen into the trap of being sold shite off Trademe that was not advertised to be for the right model. My bike is an 89 H1 model and the bearings for the rear wheel is 20mm internal diameter. I went to throw on the new rims I bought and found the clearance on the wheel bearings was only 17mm Does anyone know what model wheels these are? My understanding about L model rims was different spacer widths required, but different wheel bearings? Something don't seem right....

zxr400H1 (1989) have smaller wheel bearing internal diameter.
zxr400H2 and up (1990) have larger wheel bearing internal diameter due to a different swing arm.

Easy enough to get new wheel bearings to fit though, ive done it before.

Also the sprocket carrier is different between the H1 and H2 / L models

in short, all the rear wheels fit all the different models from what i know, you might just need to take the axel into a bike shop and get them to find the correct bearings

    Hope that helps

    You want bearing number 20X47X14 6204 2Z C3 for a H2L1-3 rim
    Dimensions 20x47x14
Sprocket carrier for L1-3 bearing is 25x52x15 and is one of these http://skf139.en.alibaba.com/product...ingle_row.html

Hmm, good advice peoples. So perhaps I have a H2 swingarm and wheels, and the set i bought really were H1 rims... I'll have another crack at it tomorrow.

It was pretty common to swap the swingarm out of the H1. They took almost anything.
