    Speedmaster handlebars?

has anyone here changed the bars on there speedmaster? was planning on changing mine but after looking on the net it seems all the cables will need to be changed. just wondering if anyone has done it and what the cost of new cables are

money a bit tight so might just have to get the rivco risers in the meantime which fit with the stock cables. any other suggestions?

I really like the OEM bars. Why do you want to change them?

    Gudday,

You can get custom made cables at a place called Diggers. The last set I bought cost $150, and were extended to fit 16" apes.

I've bought 3-4 sets of cables from there now, and other than some light filing of the brass ends to keep them flush in the throttle sleeve housing, they have been pretty good.

They aren't great with customer service though - so expect abruptness and a little bit of attitude from the owner.

I have no idea about brake hoses, but if you find a good place let me know as I need an extended brake hose next.

thanks will keep diggers in mind

they arent the right shape for me which is why i want to change them. they seem to be too narrow - maybe if they were straight it wouldnt be so bad but it seems to twist my wrists on a funny angle

also prefer not too lean forward. maybe its just because its not what im used to and have only had the bike a couple of days and havent adapted to it yet

Shag! Only a couple of days. Give it time man and experiment with raising/lowering the pegs. For 6 months I was convinced I needed higher (by 20mm) bars on my ST4 Ducati but eventually got used to the sports position.

I rode faster and they felt just right. In hindsight that wasn't such a good thing but 2 years of adrenaline...ah well, I'll always have the memories.

I rode a mates speedmaster to the burt munro a couple of years ago and before I left I fitted a set of harley dragbars similar look but straighter and slightly wider as he original bars had to much pullback for me,and he found when I got back he liked them as well so they stayed on and any hd bar will fit the risers as speedmaster bars are 1".
