I have noticed that actually. A new experience for me as this is my first faired bike.

This is a 6 month old 2003 1000GTR. (First registered 6 months ago). Only done 2,850km.
Nice bike, like the mileage, looks like a excellent bike to tour on, and a good fairing too, like bmw...... dont suppose ya get much rain over there,do you find that you get a bit over heated at times? sound stupid but 28+ degrees and not much wind due to fairing, had me streching to get a bit of cool air flow! ....

Still winter of course, so haven't seen what it is going to be like in summer. We have had quite a wet winter so far (we need it for the dams). I rarely ride with much more than a T-shirt under my jacket. In summer I have a very thin jacket, which I can see getting a lot of use now.

Miracle today! The missus went on the back of the new bike. A bit apprehensive at first, but enjoyed it. Went to her brothers place about 20km away. Beaut day.

Lucky for you the weather was good. I woke up this morning in Wellington, the weather so good, I thought I'd go for a longer ride to Palmerston North and visit a mate. A beautiful morning all the way up there, no cars on the road at 8am.
A few Bacon & Eggs later, I step out the door in Palmy and theres no blue sky to be seen.
A shitty ride back to Welly in showery rain most the way. My back tyres on its last legs and getting quite slippery in the wet too.
Ah well, If its pissing down tomorrow, I'll be smiling. At least I got my weekend ride in!

I'm sure the missus will enjoy the bike as long as you behave with her on the back.
Looks like quite a deal you found there!

No, the NTV650 was a great bike, but not suitable for two up riding. Hence this was the first real opportunity for her to go pillion.

Yeah, I tried to restrain myself. $12,000 for a six month old 1000GTR couldn't be passed up.
