Just doesn't portray the steepness of that hill we pushed it up oh and some tread on that slick rear tyre would have helped and you missed my big slide coming out of that grassy track.

    Cool vid Marty

Cameras never capture the real slope of hills...and that one was reasonably perpendicular to say the least! Almost convinces me to stick the T63 on....but there's easy another 500k in the K60 before the tube starts poking through sorry bout missing the slide it was momentus alright I'm still experimenting with the gopro set up but thought I'd post some footage in the interests of scientific research.

Great vid Marty. Cracked up, you couldn't have used a more appropriate song So funny.
When it all goes to crap you have to laugh.
    Well done both of you.
What happened to your mirror ? Did you drop the bike? It looked like you didn't so I'm puzzled. Explanation please ;-)

all I can put it down to is metal fatigue and the inferior quality of the KTM mirror stalk (no doubt sorced from China).....that or maybe a flee hit it at 100kph

    Woody's Weekend

OK, we need to sort a cool ride for the 25th of this month for our visiting Nelsonite.

There are a few options depending on what your all up for? heres a couple of ideas

Option1 South - Havelock - Porangahau - Old Hill Road - Back gravel roads to Waipuk, Back roads to Gwavas, Salsbury Road, back to Hastings. Pretty much what me and Pomogolian did on Saturday. Takes about 6 - 7 hrs depending on stops - Good mix of gravel, twisty slab, beaches, cool veiws.

Option2 North - basically the Saturday ride of the MMMM from last year (if Clint can give me the GPS route...cant find mine). Ride up Napier Taupo road (1hr) head inland through forest roads, slab and gravel to Lake Waikeri - then gravel slab back to Napier- prolly 10+ hrs in the saddle-

    any other ideas routes welcomed

I like option 1. But, that's just me...

Will go with whatever the group decides ~~~~~~~~

If you want to go through Minginui, and it's not too wet, I could lead you through a bit of a challenge section There are some old forestry tracks through the native bush there that I'm thinking of including in the MMMMM, as a slightly longer & harder alternative to the bit we did last time. It would be good to do a bit of a pre run with a small group & see how it flows.

We would probably split off at Waikaremoana & loop back home via the rest of the MMMMM route.

    Cheers
    Clint

Although through Minginui then around the lake is a fantastic ride its a long ride with fading light this time of year - so

Option 1 for me - maybe link those gravel roads so less tar with more gravel Marty or even Barts section through the river out Maraekakaho way.

Sounds like a pre pre run needed

good call....a pre pre run is essential for health & safety reasons I'm out this weekend though - church working bee....after that should be free to adv ride for rest of the month

looks like its the southern route then....still wouldn't mind hooking up with Clint to scout out the MMMM section if it works out....do the challange bits and then head home...shorten the day a bit.
