Hi Bart , Did Takapari Rd last Sunday morn on way back from Cape Reinga , not a breath of wind , nor cloud in sky, awesome little offroad , had a little drama getting back up hill thats scoured out after the A frame hut , managed to hit on the 3rd attempt , not good with throw overs full of 14 days worth . Great trip , thanks for your earlier advice

Good stuff. It’s magic up there on a nice day. I’d better go for another look one day soon.

Sounds like you had a good trip? I wish I could go and get lost for a couple of weeks.

Give me 8-12 weeks and I might be able to join yas would have to be better weather than last time though, riding up there In almost zero viz is tad hard wrk .......fun,but hard,

For an update on my progress I'm getting better at pain management but it's hard work. Don't recall my busted leg giving me as much grief as these ribs. Will make contact with insurance company tomorrow and. Get the. Ball rolling on that. There's probably $2k of visible damage I recon but what worries me is the frame, engine and computers health after taking a fairly hard impact. Will be interesting to see what the insurers recommend.
    ....wherezz that track go

The track goes on for about 3 or 4 km to a dead end. Gets a little rough past the hut but then improves a bit. No side tracks that I’m aware of, so you can’t really fill a whole day in there.

You can rest a leg, but you can’t rest ribs...unless you stop your heart and lungs....and apparently that’s bad (I was going to say ’baaaad’, but it’s probably a little early for sheep jokes).

So glad to hear you are a tab more comfortable after GP visit. As Bart said . . . . you can't rest your ribs like a leg.
Your poor orange beast He should keep you preoccupied for a while. Take care.

Not that I can recall it but Getting on and off a sheep whilst already on a ktm is not an experience I would be looking to replicate although it might have been less troublesome on something more like old mutton and with less ground clearance like a KLR but hey that's only speculation on my part
