Number of tricks, one is to make some sort of pressurised pump from an oil can and feed the fluid through a tube into the bleed valves so you pump new fluid up and cause air to come up (the direction air wants to go)to the resevior (you have to empty out the resevior as it gets to full).
Or you can take the whole system off the bike and lay it out so the calipers are at the highest point and reseviour at the lowest and bleed it that way.
You can spend days trying to bleed brakes just to be beaten by air in the joins or just under the booster, or by swelling lines, bad booster, leaking seals etc.
Good luck mate, I hate the bleeding things![]()
Mate I take my calipers off,put a bit of ply between the pads an place them on a shelf higher than the master cylinder.I some times leave them over night on the bench so the air will hopefully drift up over night.Originally Posted by Nouseforaname

Best of luck.
Some take bloody ages - I remember when did the brakes on the VTR - took KiwiStorm and I ages to get any pressure in the line at all.
Try cracking the banjo bolt at the top - you may have air stuck at the top of the line.
Other than that - just keep going, the pressure will gradually build.
ALso you can Try putting Braided Lines on - this will improve the braking no end. You cables may just be that old or degraded that they are flexing. For about $120, Greenlane SPeed Shop will do you up a pair of front lines.
Cheers for ya help guys..... im off to the garage right now to try out those tricks, im glad it's not just me who has had trouble![]()
I just did my RF. Try squeezing the lever, then opening the bleeder. Close the bleeder before you let the lever back. Do the same with rear brake. Worked like a charm on mine.

If anyone has read any of my other posts about mechanical stuff then you will know that im a complete fuck-up when it comes to fixing anything. I tried for hours to bleed the lines but still no luck........ so i spat the dummy, put the bike in the van and paid brent at spectrem to do it for me![]()
Some people cant sing, some cant read, some cant cook....... i fit all three plus the ' no good at fixing anything ' catagory.
Oh well at lest ya, brakes work well now,Originally Posted by Nouseforaname

yeh exactly Jackrat.... i figure, if i dont know what im doin it's not worth messing about with. The last thing i need is to hit the anchors hard and my brakes dont work and i kill myself. Get it done right, even if it means paying somebody to do it![]()
