    Well isnt this a resourceful thread!

    If the plastic's too cold you could knit together the clothes of homeless people to make a cover. Or you could ask them to keep it warm for you instead.

    You could even put a bit of heat onto the plastic like you shrink wrap other goods.

    Oxford, the m/c accessory maker do two bike covers, the cheaper one is not *that* much more than $30.

    You might want to ensure that the material from which you made a cover doesn't damage the paint work in the event that the wind causes it to chafe.
