I don't understand why people think I am that stupid?

I turn the key and the lights come on the display, I press that start switch and the lights go off and nothing happens. I fiddle with the wires and turn the key on again and then the lights come back on. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. All the bits I can see and reach are tight and nothing is loose...
I have taken the side bits off, and looked for obvious loose flapping bits and that is the extent of my knowledge.
Either battery on it's last legs or a dirty earth connection on the battery or frame.
Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow aren’t just the 4 cycles of an engine

or the kill switch is faulty & touching the bars when you start the bike up. Be worth having a quick squizz after you've checked your battery connections.

    Worked like a charm...

Yes we had tightened the positive connection, and it fixed it for about 1 minute. Wasn't sure how to get the battery out, and the other side of the bike off. Was too upset about the fresh gouge in my new paint job...

As I was preparing to take the Fury, my bike was magically fixed! The negative connection was hanging off and there are marks from it arcing (sp?) Everything was really loose and had not been tightened after the paint job when I bought it.
Now I don't have that weird delay when I start it - that everyone said was "normal" for a Harley!
