I use an Olympus 1030sw that's 10m waterproof, shockproof etc.
Can use normal gloves.
I just point it in the general direction and push the button. No focussing or zooming. Crop and rotate to suit later.
Or when stopped, just the same. No zooming, no focussing...
Basically I use Digikam for importing and stills and Kdenlive for the video editing. Gimp for heavier photo editing.
If I've got the dSLR with me however, all the above goes out the window.
Zooming, focussing and framing are all the go

. It's probly good if your doing lots of interesting stuff, like riding through forestry roads/trails and going up and down steep gnarly hills, which I enjoy occasionally, I'd also have to spend more time in front of a computer editing and get a faster processor to make it not such a painfull process.
