I hate you all for reminding me that selling my '70 in '93 for $1100 and an oz probably wasn't the best idea given what it would be worth now.

I swapped my CB750 in 1986 for a Singer Vogue (Hillman Hunter) with a stuffed engine and a gearbox that jumped out of 3rd gear - hard to believe from this 2011 perspective that both were worth about the same...$1500 at the time.

I had a green Hillman Hunter, and swapped a 350 triumph for it , good solid honest car ..I used sellys no more nails as a head gasket ........

You can't call it a classic CB750 unless it has the red and gold tank. And they need to be restored with the same shit tyres and fish oil in the forks they came with standard. At least Dunlop developed special tyres for the Trident (TT100),but Honda sent these things out with tyres that were dangerous on a 250,on a 750 with over 70hp they were more than dangerous....and so we got the learner system with a 250 limit.

I had a red/gold tank CB750 - it is the only inline 4 cyl motorcycle I've owned,and inspired me to never own one again.

Motu is back, slagging the CB750 off again. By the time he has rebuilt his Norton/BSA/Triumph for the fourth or fifth time, the CB is still cane-ing it without even so much as a hiccup on the original plugs. I ride my K0 within its limits, I red line it every time I'm on it, repeatedly. OK, it doesn't handle so good when pushed. What bike does? They all have faults.

Agreed, the 750/4 is a nice machine...but it doesn't spin my wheels....I need assistance from a leaky twin for that...
I would be interested in having a ride on one some time, see how it compares to the Commando...could be fun..can't say I've ever been near red line on it.....the image of all those fragile parts turning at 7500 rpm ......

Sure it wasn't a CB500/4? I remember seeing a photo of Mike sitting on one with a nice after market 4 into 2 exhaust setup and the caption mentioning got he it after getting rid of the Commando.
