Roundabout surfing gets boring after a while....then you try for a few laps the other way round to even the tyre wear and grind the other slider down....now that can be interesting

and as a biker I like to have a good view of my surroundings in order to survive...its just annoying in the car..but on the bike its important .

If the roundabout is near a gas station, I'm too busy watching for diesel spills to admire the flowers.

I asked this question of our council and was told that the planting is in fact a deliberate strategy, they referred to it as "traffic calming" .

    Doesn't work for me though.

Ive had to come to a complete stop half way through a round-about twice in a couple of days to avoid being squashed. One idiot even slammed on their brakes when they finally noticed me, stopping directly in front of me, totally blocking my path.

No wonder the crashes are plentiful.

Its even worse when people dump diesel around it.

I'm guessing that would be more likely the result of failing to give way (ie: not knowing, or caring, who has right of way) ... not because of any "jungle" ...
