Yeah, ducks a re a bit of a hazard on the Hauraki plains. Lost count of how many I squashed in the 11 years I lived there.

Worst on a bike was a swarm of cicadas on SH1 half way down lake Taupo. Instant black out. Or, rather, green-and-red out. Bloody handy to have a lake right there to wash the visor!

I've hit a few things, birds and the bees included, but the most gross one was on the flats south of dunedin, was hitting the marshland insects in the twighlight and one went up my visor ventilation system and hit me in the eye.

I stopped, tried to get it out and I couldn't. Something was irritating my eye though and I couldn't see well, but I had my other eye and limped home. When I took out my contact lenses that night there was little bug underneith one of them. eewwwww

Then again, how can you tell a Harley rider is about to buy what he was test riding? It has to do with the number of flies in his teeth

Well here's the earliest thread I can find: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=2 And what a boring thread it is too -- apart from Hitcher thread dredging after two years!

Thread `0' or `1' don't seem to exist.

I was riding home one night on the VTZ of Doom and didn't even see the blackbird that hit my chest but I sure as hell felt it. I managed to stop and get off before I hit the ground clutching my torso. I only knew it was probably a blackbird by the feathers. The damn thing exploded on impact and I had bruises for Africa. Was finding bird bits for weeks after too all in my clothes and bike.
