most people have no comprehension of distance let alone speed.
I reckon 0.05m is good enough, lets see how that Spandex helps them as they slide down the road.
We wear leathers/safety gear and pay a high ACC Levy and cyclists pay nothing!
We seriously need stats to show how many are getting knocked over and the relevant rehab bills so something can be done to fairly charge them for their accidents!
Some form of licence or just putting an increase on car drivers levies as they seem to be the ones who knock them all off!

The official distance is 1.5mm... especially when more than 2 abreast.

    Exactly!, well said SimJen!
Your right on the money there, we pay so they can play!
I would LOVE to see the spandex replaced with proper protective gear!
As motorcyclists we invest alot of money in good gear to help reduce the risk of injury, while these leg shavers get to wear gear that increase! the risk of personal injury??

I don't understand why bikers hate cyclists so much. They don't affect us in anyway, you just hoon on past em within the lane and there's plenty of room.

Though had one do the bloody look around and drift to the right this morning. But his own problem if he can't tell the difference between a cars noise and a little 2 cylinder lawn mower.

Ride the bike more often then!

Getting held up by a cyclist is comeuppance from the motorcycle gods for having taken a cage out.

Haha I'm the other way round due to public transport and Auckland congestion. Saves me 45 minutes taking the bike over the car.

You're supposed to match their speed 1.5 metres away from their back wheel before you plant it and run them over to pass. This gives them a fighting chance to duck off into the weeds where they belong.
