Entering that particular corner, you were much too close to the centre line (as a result of trying to cut corners) which made that corner tighter than it needed to be. If you had been further to the left, and using a late apex, it would have been safer (for you and other vehicles) and you would have been far more likely to make it around the corner. As you say, fixating didn't help either.

Honestly, you're riding at speeds well in excess of your skill, ergo, something goes wrong, and you can't correct it, hence why you always ride with plenty in reserve to handle the "what if" moments.

Spend more time learning to ride (skills development etc) and less time trying to look and go fast. Speed will come naturally, as your skills progress.
    What this guy said.

    Smooth and relaxed = fast

completely agree Crash, when speed exceed's ability, the result is almost always a crash....damn lucky no innocents were involved

Never nice to see a fellow rider hurt tho (even if by their own actions)...hope your Ok Westy, you sounded like you were in ALOT of pain in that vid.
.........but at least you were big enough to admit your mistakes in the vid...and then share it!

-Take it to the track for speed mate...the road is dangerous enough at legal speeds.

Stay safe Westy & I truly hope your all healed up, feeling better & the bike is repairable

No ones perfect, and im no exception. ive still got a LONG way to go and i wont be riding anywhere like i was in that video ever again. Ive only been riding for a few years and im nothing to some of the guys i know and at least i can own up to my mistakes and avoid them again.

Yeah the only thing keeping me Conscious was the pain. cant remember the seizures or anything but 6 more months of physio and i should be good to ride again.

Some of those lessons are easy, and some have a happy ending whether due to our skill or simply luck. yet others end up not so lucky or with a good ending.
I take off my hat to any person who has the guts to admit that they are still learning and have acknowledged their mistakes and learned something from them. Only then our roads will become safer.

This is the sorta guy i like!
I totally agree with what your saying.

LOL. I was actually asking about you. I don't really care if a lump of plastic or metal gets damaged. People getting injured is the worry. Glad you're OK

I too am glad you've learned the most important lesson there is in motorcycling - respect the motorsickle or it will hurt you. It's all shit's and giggles until you hit something stationary and the physical damage can stay with you forever.

    Seriously though dude, you need to be told;

Your riding was nothing short of fucking abysmal. Apart from trying to get your knee down on a roundabout in the rain it doesn't look like you've mastered the lean at all.

Please do us all a favour and if & when you get back on a bike don't go posting videos of your riding on the interweb again. The references to ACC in this thread aren't coming from a perspective with concern for your rehabilitation.

I hope you fully recover and get back on your bike. On a track.

Gremlin is bang on the money. But I see from your comments that you already know you fucked up
From watching your clip, the speed is hardly the issue in that corner, it was the line and the target fixation. Even with your poor line, you (IMO) had plenty of room to adjust and make it through the corner. However, experience is the only way of ensuring that if you find you have committed to a corner wrong, you adjust rather than freak out. We've all been there, we've all been new to riding and had moments where the brain just refuses to think clearly, we freak out and do what we shouldn't, in your case, stand the bike up by grabbing a handful of brakes instead of turning the bike into the corner.
How fast do you think you went into that corner?
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
