    Looking to start a project...

Well, I have been keen on a classic sports type custom for a little while now. Something along this line:

    http://motorcyclecustom.info/custom-...tom-frame.html

However, would prefer to use a 200cc - 450cc engine. Any ideas for a base bike? Thinking something like a cb450 or this cb 360T http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-414432279.htm.

Would love to hear your thoughts. I only have experience in sports bikes, so this will be a whole new challenge!

This is the sort of thing I would be going for with a CB360...

Stay away from the 450's - finding one with a good crank is getting harder...

No one wants 360's for anything so they're cheap...they also seem to be pretty bulletproof.

Cool, thanks for that. Would be more than happy with a 360, want some to pootle around on in style, speed and power is not a factor...that's what the sportsbikes are for.

Get a CB200 bro. Then we can have a competition to see who builds the coolest one!

Am not too fussy G. Like I said, power really doesn't matter, I just want something stylish to pootle around town on. If I can find a CB200 then more than happy to rock with that. Don't seem to be too many CB anythings around though! Pre 1980 that is.

CB175 was a high revving 'racing' twin. Could rev to like 12k or something stupid. The CB200 is essentially the same bike but detuned a bit and with a bigger bore for road riding.

I have a couple of vids somewhere on my facebook page. They sound pretty rad for a 200cc bike, even just with the standard pipes.

I've got two frames and 3.5 engines. Though I've done SFA with them in the year or so I've had them!

I've always toyed in my mind with doing a CB175 classic Cafe Racer based on 1960's Honda Racer style.
Just trying to find one these days.
