    In the market. Can't decide!

Ok guys, haven't been on here in a while. Don't really do the forum thing anymore, BUT I need your help!

I'm in the market for a new bike after just getting back from a 4 month tour through Europe (on a Vstrom :P hehe).

The bikes I'm looking at are hornet 900, z750 os gsr600... the new Hornet 600 is my dream bike but sadly it's out of my price range at the moment.

Any buying advice will be appreciated!

    Cheers

There is a Mint Z750 and Z1000 at Boyd Motorcycles at the moment. Could be down your alley...

Take the time and go have a look around, you (and only you) can decide which bike suits/fits ..all very well sitting on here saying yeah/na/yeah/na etc..
You may be suprised just how easy it is get the bike you really really want.
Dont be put of by the price, thats just a starting point..if you want it, you'll find a way to get it...thats how I ended up with the FZ8

Well, that Zed Thou happens to be my old bike that I have just traded in on my new mount. It has everything done to it and it goes like a cut cat. It has ZX10 shock, tail tidy, crash bungs, headwork done, full Micron race system, and pack rack. It goes bloody nice. Only traded it in when i saw they just got a Triumph 675 Daytona which i always wanted.
Plus Glenn and Greg are great to deal with too.

Lets put it this way. It is well sorted bike. And Zed motors are indestructable. This thing goes well. Not using any oil. Everything works well. Oh, even has heated grips if you planning trips in winter. And with ZX10 shock it handles way better then a standard Zed.

Oh, and if you waved foldies in front of the boys, I would say you might even get it for around $7K

I agree, although I like all bikes, just some more than others. If you don't like it, sell it and get another

I found the Z1000 too short in the front for me. Felt like I was heading over the bars all the time or staring at the front wheel. My ride at the time was a ZRX1200 so there is a bit of difference in the seating position.

Go sit on a few at the dealers around town and imagine yourself in the reflection of the shop windows and see what makes you like it the most.

I thought the Hornet 900 was a really good bike, undervalued with heaps of power, just didn't give me a buzz. Seemed a small bike though and that may appeal. Nice power range and cheap for what it was. Have read a few forum posts and it seems to have a very loyal following among it's owners.

    Just my thoughts.

I would recommend a TDM900 but they are a bit out of your budget and may not be sporty enough for you.

Cheers and enjoy whatever you get.

I know where you could get a nice hornet 900 for $7500.
It has ohlins shock, aftermarket exhausts (nice sound) power commander and dyno tuned. Aftermarket seat, mirrors, leavers, grips, pack rack.
Real nice to ride, I should know it's my wife's bike and I get to ride it to work.

Some photos from a little while ago here (the black one)

Well, it's a good feeling to be in the market for a new bike - go in and ride them all! Being slightly biased, you won't go wrong with a 900 Hornet - but a zed bike with all that fruit is also highly appealing!

Just go out, test ride them all and see which one tickles your fancy most! (And seeing as you have an impeccable choice for a chewfiddy, I'm sure you will be very pleasantly surprised with the bigger version when you ride it!)
