as far as impressive power figures go, 150 is fuckall for the size of engine the thing probably has, 1600+?? I dunno.

Would be an interesting thing to ride, I imagine its running low boost for extra pull everywhere rather than high and aimed at the redline?

Be keen to read your review. and a vid if you can swing it

    Cheers,

True, a ZX14 or a V-Max have 25% more pony, but the 1620 also produces 145Nm at 8psi of booostages - as you know, 'streetability' is a combination of the two - against RPM.

'tis fun, quick and still very tractable.

    And it goes Ktschuuuuuush.

Be intersting to read your report, fwiw a bloke in England acheived 148 by attaching a supercharger to the side of his TL,have seen plenty of footage both on the TL site and stuff hes sent me and whilst completly rideable on day to day stuff didnt seem to work so well when used for its intended purpose ie the English hillclimb series. The Turbo v Supercharger thing i find really interesting more so when it comes to bikes.Have fun and as i said looking forward to your findings.

Also of note was of the staff or associates of Chopperworks I spoke to at length - 50% were Hawke's Bay native.

my (limited, laymans) understanding of turbo charging is that it is most effective at higher rev ranges all things being equal. Supercharging where the pump is mechanically driven is where you get the low down boost, and stuff. Plus the cool whirry belt noises and stuff. I am thinking about taht Rotrex supercharged VFR800 specifically.

Be interested to read BD's article about it.

to get the most out of a turbo, yes, it will deliver up top, having said that, you can set it up to do just about anything you want.
Supercharging, when set up right, SHOULD eliminate lag, and provide boost basically from idle.

As BD said streetability is the goal with a bike like this, so theres no way a 1600cc turbo twin is going to be set up to deliver boost up top, unless its a drag bike.

Ive read about the vfr's with superchargers too, theyre getting 180hp easily and reliably out of them, very cool. And now that a few people have done it, theres a bit of info, less fettling to set it up and costs less.

Id like to see a bike thats twin charged though (thats where you have a supercharger AND a turbo charger) I doubt that would be very streetable, but would be a cool 'cos I can' project!

People are starting to play with Vics a little more now

Check out what Roland Sands is doing with one in a quest to get to 200mph

His NEXT step is to put a turbo on it...
