G'day all,
After my frolicking around on the slopes in Canada for 5 months, I've been driving my old man's Peugeout 406 Hdi around the city and beyond since I got back in April. Beautiful car, great manual to drive with some decent turbo diesel grunt - not to mention the thing went a good 1,200km on a tank, getting 4.9L per 100km! Now the weather has been getting better and better, and I've been awfully jealous of every bike I've seen on the road or parked up, salivating from the seat of my tractor car... That was until the car died. The clutch fully shagged itself and we're selling it as is.
Time for car shopping methinks, but after spending hours trawling trademe I find myself completely uninterested... Any car that I could want is either friggen expensive as crap or costs a fortune to run. Every other car just seems like shitty plastics encaging a crappy interior with a shoddy driving experience. Yet every single bike I look at, no matter how big or small, new or old, I just crave.
Who could have thought that buying a new car could be so boring...
I would love to buy a new bike and could buy one in an instant, god I wish I could grab my gixxer 750 back. But I live 4km from work, there are some decent hills but it's walkable in 40min and runnable in 15min... drivable in 5min. Having to gear up and warm up the bike seems like a waste for such a commute, not to mention zipping down to the local for a box of beer. If I still lived in Karaka I'd buy a bike in an instant for commuting, but when I live so central, is there a point??
Can anybody save me and give me reasons for buying a bike or fill me in on some great cars for under 12k??? Mmm tempted to buy a bike even just for the summer, the market's so cheap... but leathers on top of a shirt, for a 4km ride...
What do I do?!?!![]()
