We used Go Logistics. I think it cost around $2000 per bike, to get them there and back, including all the paperwork.
The actual shipping process wasn't too bad, finding insurance ended up being our main hassle. Air New Zealand's travel insurance covered us while riding the bikes, which most companies wouldn't do, and Swann insured the bikes for us.
For us the break even point for shipping vs hiring was around 4 weeks, for a trip shorter than that, it would be cheaper, and less mucking around, to hire a bike over there.
The road to hell is paved...
Thanks for your responses.
JMJ - am a real newbie here - how do I get in touch with Clint or Rosie?
Many Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Re your trip to Oz - have you given an account of it anywhere online? Would love to hear about it.
Hub and I did a two week tour last year hiring bikes in Sydney and headed south coastal and returned inland - just over 4,000ks all up. Was great. Now looking to do Sydney north next year.

Toni
Don't think you'd like to take your bouly where Clint and Rosie went.

Next March we're going Melbourne - Adelaide and back and have booked a Yamaha Tenere 660cc for 13 day rental of $1573 with http://www.garnersmotorcycles.com.au...0Page%201.html
Our 3rd bike trip in Aus. Shipped our ST and hired a GS1200. Unless you're going for a lengthy period it's cheaper and easier to rent IMO.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.
