Really, I would have come under the assumption that if a bicycle is allow to park there, why not a motorbike? And with a 20+ metre wide footpath , its hardly obstructing. A friend of mine got the same ticket. He managed to talk to the warden who issued it, he couldnt get out of the fine, but when he asked if he could leave it there for 20 more mins so he could finish lunch the warden replied "Sure, its not blocking anything"/
As a car driver, I get annoyed when I see motorbikes parking and taking up a carspot. But now I'm understanding that pretty much we have to park in car parks.
Are there any formal rules listed somewhere on parking in NZ? Do we have to pay coin operated if we park in council pay park carparks?
The best rule I have gathered so far is .. park where wardens don't walk.
