Rusty Nuts 1000 miler - Are you on the ride?

This campaign is to help us tell the story of this ride, the story of the Rusty Nuts and the stories of the diverse group of bikers as they travel through some of the most stunning landscapes New Zealand has to offer.

It's the 25th Grand Challenge and are you on the ride?
Some of the crazy's are doing The Long Weekend - that's a 900km day on Friday plus the 1600km on the Saturday / Sunday!

Like back in 2006 are are filming again! and the DVD will be available for sale. But this time we are trying to get lots more footage. This means more cameras (including Go-Pro HD's on some bikes) more people and, yes, more $'s.

If you contribute enough you can pre-buy your DVD and have the warm fuzzy that you helped make the DVD that much better...

Whilst you are there, we would greatly appreciate it if you could forward a link to our campaign to the various social media or any production industry contacts you may have - one of these people will be the key to helping us succeed!

You can check out the previews here: http://www.youtube.com/user/NITROfilmNZ

    Many Thanks

Been booked since last year for the long weekend, but now I'm waiting for my bike to come along.

Haven't donated yet, will be doing so.

So what will your weapon of choice be this year?
I trust it will be something even more insane than the 990?

...and, if new, be well and truly run in by the time you get to the start line! Possibly even on your second rear tire...

My current steed. Katie the 990 was traded in on a 2010 R1200GSA, I'll see your puny fuel tank and raise it to 33L rated, but more like 35-36L when you stuff it in... oh, and 8 forward facing lights, but I only use up to 6 when on the move

Just need to get it in my hands tho, after my USA trip.

That's a pity. I'm hoping to possibly have a new bike to try it on.

900 + 1600 to mark the 25th anniversay for me and I still felt pretty good after 1300Km yesterday.....which really pissed me off since I was supposed to complete just short of 1500Km. (blog refers.. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/en...h-a-Big-Finger!! )

    Not Biting! Not Biting!!
Oh buggerit! ... my puny 1.5l tank has been round the world 3 times in the last three years (40,000/yr). Whilst I leave my Beemer (aka rubber cow) in the garage with her 30l tank

Map is only released the day before, on site at Turangi.

This (http://rustynuts.org.nz/default.aspx?PageID=41) gives you an entry form format, along with some rules. If you search Grand Challenge on KB, you'll find write ups of past events, experiences etc.

    Ahhhh I seeeeeee
Thanks for that, not too sure how I'd go though. I went from Napier to Taihape and back and felt pretty sore, and that was just 300k's. Bloody Sport bikes!
I'll do some more reading and might just turn up on the day.

    Cheers
