Oh, this was just off our driveway at the end of the cul-de-sac in which we live so isn't as naughty as it looks.

i dont know, i think that if you struck a reasonable copper that in the time place and circumstances, and your riding was sweet, werent going far, then it prob wouldnt be such an issue.

then again when was the last time that happened these days.

See, I've often thought about the "minimum age" I would take my kids on my bike. I suppose if a kid if old enough to understand "hang on for your life" then that's the first step. It's funny that when they're young and in a car they need more safety protection then any other person in the car, i.e. 5 point harness. But on a bike it's the same as the rider. It seems as bikers, we decide ourselves when it's safe to carry kids and how to carry them with minimal influence from the law. Makes a refreshing change.

I still reckon I wouldn't take my kid on the bike until they can ride their own. Then it'll be on the back. But I can kinda see the logic of putting them on the front all "cacooned" up. The biggest issue for me would be forking over all that cash for decent gear only to have them grow out of it within 2-3 years!
