Im going to be leading a group on a ride soon in an area I dont know. So I want a map holder. Anybody use or make a handlebar mounted one? I dont use a tank bag.
You could draw your map on a scroll, and make a holder out of a small clickclack box, much like the ones used by adventure riders.
many years ago we used to 500k organised adventure rides. What was received was a grid of intersections and points of interest. We used to cut them up in ordered strips, sellotape them together like a roll of toilet paper.
We got a click clack box, drilled two axles through the sides with knobs on, and wind them on. While on route we would wind the map grids through the clear lid of the CC box, thus having our directions. These were mounted on the handle bar brace. oh for the good ol days of those rides.
linky to one....http://www.adventurerides.co.nz/yama...ntureRides.pdf
glad wrap and sellotape
Ride the area before hand
You learn the area and get to go for rides... win win!![]()

The GPS system lead to a small balls up on our last ride...not always as effective as the human brain/mind...which I would trust more.
Most knew that we would be stopping at X place for a morning coffee...but Mrs GPS took them somewhere else.
I like visual, rather than spoken directions.
