As to the rest of you I appreciate the sound of an engine.Who can look at a bike and hear it sounding like a ball bearing in a tin can rattling right beside your ear and think "sweet"

Obviously you do, riding a Hyosung

Once upon a time "ting ting ting" could be heard in every forest, every moor & every racetrack throughout the land. The air was blue & fragrant & lo the riders of the world smiled.

Nope, you are just a Hyo riding homo, thats all. Probably too incompetent to ride and maintain a smoker anyhow.

Hmmm, should sound like a rrrrrap rather than a ting ting ting. Apparently you only hear that if you've been doing your mum.

Oooh, touched a nerve you have.

Simple, ride one for a while. You will learn that a) braap is good, b) the ring ting ting comes before the braap therefore c) the ring ting ting is also good. And you'll find these noise have become sweet music to your ears, everytime you hear one bringing back memories of said braap.

    ALL HAIL THE BRAAAP.

This has been a public service announcement, brought to you by Castrol R, and red powerbands.

Nothing quite like the sound of some angry bees being shaken up inside a metal can.

Those were the days, MX tracks just seem a bit brutish and uncivilised now.

The more important question, has anyone made an exhaust for a 4T so it sounds like a 2T?

After several attempts we worked out that the noise was basically produced in the expansion chamber so removed it. Tried several replacements with wider diameter pipes but the noise was awful and it ran very poorly. In the end we worked out that car radiator hose (40mm diameter) soaked up all the ring a ding dings.

Might be hard to source here but the front lower hose from a 1970 to 1976 Ford Cortina (Mark 3) has the right curves for fitting to an RGV with very little work. Should work for an RS 250 as well. Depends what bike you end up getting. The hose has more built in expansion than metal pipes so needs no chamber, and jubilee clips are far easier to work with than welding and brazing. Getting the two in to one joint is pretty impossible if you ask me, we ended up running both pipes up under the seat, way before Ducati or anyone else thought of it.

Give it a go and post some photos. I lost all mine in a fire.

Big bang 500cc 2 stroke motor (full song) = Best sounding 2 smoker ever, especially when in the hands of Mick Doohan

"Screamer" 500cc 2 stroke motor (full song) = seccond best sounding 2 smoker ever, again when in the hands of Mick Doohan
