Anyone got a copy of these mags lying about?

    Philip Penhey:
    - Australian Performance Streetbike, Oct/Nov 1997, issue 48 - This is the first in a series of articles about modifying a GB400.
    - Australian Performance Streetbike, Dec/Jan 1998, issue 49 - This is the second in the above mentioned series.

    Bruce Marshall:
    - Bike Australia, Nov/Dec 92 - an article entitled DIY JAP by Peter Thoeming when he was first bitten by the GBug.

Haven't got any of the documents you asked for but I have got an article from Jul/Aug 1990 Bike Australia which actually started Peter Thoeming's interest on the GB 400. It was the GB which re-started my passion for bikes and when Peter was Editor of BA, he published an article I wrote on getting back into bikes. Some correspondence followed and I think he eventually ended up with a hotted-up GB 500.

My GB was one of the scarcer midnight blue 400's and the photo shows it in its original form in 1987. The full fairing was added a couple of years later to make it look like a fully faired Manx or Goldie and I put a single seat on not long afterwards. I finally sold it in the mid 90's still in mint condition to a guy from Hawera.

Anyway, I hope the article contributes to your collection of info on the GB series.

This URL will provide links to other articles if you haven't already seen it: http://www.thumperpage.com/articles/gb-500faq.html

    Cheers

Thanks. Mines a Blue 400 too. Absolutely enjoy riding it. Quite windy today and was expecting it to be blown about more, very controlable. In fact I'm contemplating getting another. I like it that much. Simple to work on/maintain and cheap to run. Big plus's IMHO.
