The system "allows the driver to concentrate on other things" in traffic

The most striking new gadget is an autonomous driving feature, which allows the S-Class to drive itself through slow-moving traffic jams, at speeds of up to 40km/h.This uses similar technology to radar-guided cruise control, with a series of cameras and sensors on the outside of the car controlling the speed and the distance to the vehicle in front.
The system "allows the driver to concentrate on other things" in traffic, according to engineer Dr Stefan Schweher.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Bring it on! The technology is very close to the stage where cars are better at driving themselves than your average person. The problem is, if a person fucks up, they only have themselves to blame, if the manufacturer fucks up, they stand to lose a lot.

As long as the computers indicate before changing lanes I'm all for it.

No. The technology (electrotechnology speaking) has been there for a few years.
The "refining" stage has been completed...
