Hey Nudez - sorry to hear about the wee drop, though from the title I was thinking Pete had finally made you cross to the dark side and get one of those agricultural implements he peddles
I like the cloud with a silver lining idea though, hope you can convince Mrs Nudie on that score!

Ahhh. that's the reason Chris. No high vis vest!

Seriously - bad news and it must have been one ***k of a gust of wind!

It was the biggest gust of sideways wind I've ever experienced before. I guess not having any forward momentum didn't help...but basically once it reached that angle, only having one leg fighting the "heavy son of an Italian bitch" from toppling just wasn't going to happen.
I think the Guzzi was having a go at me for not commuting on the EX-4 instead !!

I can vouch for the power of that gust that took him out. I was walking on The Terrace and was almost blown into the air!
In 40 years of living in Wellington, never experienced a gust that strong! Once it stopped, I walked towards the James Cook hotel and saw nudemetalz pull up on the footpath for a quick look at the damage. I guessed he'd taken a tumble, didn't actually see it. The bike looked in good shape, that is, apart from being a guzzi

I doubt anyone could have withstood that gust being hit from side on and stationary, however I was surprised to see what looked like a GSXR1000 turning up The Terrace at the same time you pulled up on the footpath. Amazed he didn't go down too, as that fairing must act like a sail.

Hope the knee is on the mend anyway dude! Pretty damn windy today, so watch out !!!

Gixxers don't get blown about. It's something to do with nano technology making them so sleek and slippery that mere wind has no effect.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Thanks Buzzard. It was just that sudden burst of wind up the Terrace that got me. Was okay after that.

I feel for that poor lady that got the face plant that 4 million people saw on the news !!

You heard right. But if you expect me to admit that in public, you'll be disappointed...

You're lucky it's only the wind you had to worry about. Auckland has had a bit of that wind also, plus these days we have the odd helicopter falling out of the sky that we need to look out for
