I was talking to a guy this week who is big into cars and car racing and has some cool shit. His health problems mean he cant drive his Formula Ford anymore, so he is building a tin top to thrash about. More protection from rollover and side impact he reckons.

I hope that doesn't include jig-a-jig! Make the wife go on top, at least then you can tell the surgeon you were flat on your back . . .

why dont you just immerse yourself in bikes another way such as marshalling, i see they are wanting volunteers on this site.

It may be another form of torture but it may be a way to still be involved and give back to something you loved, may be able to soak up some of the goodness from others etc

    just a thought.

I'm still very involved, especially with the Shorai batteries and plan on attending as many race days as I can. Paeroa is a certainty, well as certanly as I can be at this time, and I plan on attending others to catch up with the three racer's I'm sponsoring, too.

Yup! Every medic has told me to be very careful from now on as I have only two vertbrae left to keep me upright, (and I fractured one of them, the L4, back in July!), and with the Osteo I'm prone to fracture. It will take a couple of years more before the treatment for the Osteo makes much difference if any and my second fracture was from falling over a trailer, so imagine the stress on my back from falling off a bike. I'm not allowed to run, jog or play tennis and have to be careful about lifting and bending, even as regards getting stuff out of the boot of the car.

Think as riders we all feel your angst, hell when I had half my lung out 2yrs ago the surgeon told me no flying(unpressured planes)or driving for 6-8weeks,cool I said that means I can ride my bike,he looked really pissed at me,till I said yup only joking. Was hard being off the bike for sure, even went out to sit on and start her up,the other half ran out as she thought I was sneaking off lol.And to be truthfull I didn't feel like riding as my ribs were bloody sore for 2-3months.

And great to meet you last week, another kber met, another great guy.

Likewise, mate! I always enjoy meeting KB'rs and have met some really good people! Sold my wife's gear to a KB'r and she was lovely! Her partner took a big box of my magazines that I was wondering what to do with and was going to put them on KB for free. He was stoked and I was happy!

Ribs are annoying, I broke one falling down our steps and that was so frustrating! Took ages to heal up, too.

    Please, someone, make it stop!

Then, like today, I go back to a customer who has now signed up to be a dealer for Shorai batteries and in his showroom is this XJ600 Diversion at $1000.00 off!

Nah, I'd only want a bike more. We've got the MX5 for sporty fun but even that is not viable for too long at a time.
