Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Shouldn't bikes of that era simply stay as fond memories? I mean, it's too much like Joan Collins in a bikini to me....

I take your point but apart from the lights its just about identical to a genuine Manx. It uses a molnar engine ffs.

Really though you need to experience just how good something like this can be in todays world. I know people think I'm full of it but this style of bike genuinely offers a different and relaxing alternative

You can have the Manx, i'll take the Egli.

I suppose if you have to ask the price then you can't afford them
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Never meet your heroes..... they will disappoint.
I lusted (as many) after an 916. Had the chance to ride one......and was left wanting.
Did the same driving a 300ZX and Senator.
We always put things on higher pedestals than they deserve if we lust.

The 916 in retrospective was a fine bike. The problem was me. I gave it god like status.....where it was just a bike.

Something like that is for those who can't buy one.
It seems these days you have to hang around the Geezers at the vintage bike club waiting for one of them to die then hit up the widow...and even then sometimes you have to put out

The thing is I have ridden a Manx and a 37 factory race 'International' and they were everything I hoped they would be.

This isnt a Manx - countless people have dreamed of making one into a street bike but this is a street bike that looks like a Manx made by clever people... Its just loverly to look at and I love it that there are completely mental people out there....

Meh - even if I was wealthy, with temptations like that in front of me I'd soon be poor again.

There must be a story there and I hope the bike was worth the ride but I don't want to know. Now back to the pretty picture at the start of this thread

Oh hey, I get the appeal of a genuine classic. I mean it looks rather tasty to be honest....but it reminds me of a firsthand experience a year or two back, when the wife was ogling an old Holden Monaro of some kind. That looked stunning, sounding horn and the missus was hanging out to buy it. We'd just bought a new XR6 Falcon....so I just said to her, sure go and take that Monaro for a spin then. The test drive lasted less than ten minutes. She thanked me for insisting she go for a drive, for it was one of those things best left as a fantasy. Oh well, each to their own....
