My bike cost me $8500 18 months ago, to me it's worth squillions, it takes me places no car ever can. No kids, it's ever so sexy, it's sleek, it sounds devine and it's light, nimble and ever so exciting.
My bike also gets to live in the insulated, carpeted garage/lounge...the car, it's outside...
...there really is no comparsion between the two.
As to priorities....the kids are feed and warm, the bills are paid and whatevers' left is for the bike...the bike gives me pleasure, gives me a big smile so that I can be the awesomest mother ever.
Priorities?
Car/Van/two bikes in the garage worth in total X $'s...dont care.
Being alive to enjoy it all....Priceless.
My car is worth more than my bike because buying an expensive learner bike wouldn't make any sense.
Ive got a 4k maxima and a $400 trail bike and $600 CBX.
I hope to increase the bike value but need a reliable car for the kids.
Paturoa, GOOD bastard, gave me my Isuzu 4WD for nothing.
Drew gave me my MVX
And Drew paid the $50 my GSX550 cost to buy.
So all my vehicles cost me the same. Nothing.

There have been times I've had a good bike and a car that just served basically as a raincoat.
Then, of course, when you own old Brit bikes a van is a necessity.
For the last umpty ump years: bike, moped, & no car.
Maybe when I retire?

I have had my 89 Nissan Ute for 11 years now,
Its had two oil changes, a new battery, 2 sets of tires,
and today I had to give it some new brakes shoes.
I think I might have washed it once.
It lives on the street....
The bikes .. both in the garage,
both have blankets to keep them warm,
Both get washed and dried each time they are used.
Both get regular oils changes etc ( old oil goes into ute, good recycling eh)
I know whats more important to me
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
100k worth of bikes,20k xr6 ute sounds about right.
I have a company car so that costs me zero, we have a cheap run-about for the missus, and we have about $24k worth of bikes, plus 6k in riding gear. I love cars too, but am not overly fazed about getting another cage. Although an M3 is on my list of next vehicle purchases.
It's good to see that most have their priorities right. You can hardly call yourself a biker if your car is worth more.
Never too old to Rock n Roll.
