    Snapped chain

    Snapped my chain today

Went for a ride up SH16, then down coatsville-riverhead highway, then down lonely track road. very close to the end, my bike made a loud noise, and then stopped moving. Pulled over to see my chain wrapped around my pack rack and partially hanging to the rear sprocket - Master link missing. Lucky, could have ended a lot worse.

So who fitted the link backwards?

    Or was it really worn?

No idea, took it in to red baron in the week to get a trade in quote, and they said it was about 85% worn, so was planning to replace shortly. Then i oiled up the chain today and then it happened.

I snapped a chain clutching up a wheelie. It jammed up the rear sprocket.

Lets just say I haven't attempted a wheelie since.

Your very lucky it didnt take out the front sprocket cover/engine casing or bend the output shaft.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Master link? Shouldn't use one on a bike over 250.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
