    Monster 796?

I was looking at the ducati 796 as a commuter/weekend bike.

Anybody on here have first hand experience of owning one?

Are they really expensive to maintain?
I normally ride 2 up so how comfortable is it for the pillion?

I plan to do some touring on the weekends and will use it on my daily commute into work.

Not comfortable for a pillion.Wack a bigger back sprocket on and they are great fun for commuting and weekend work.
Probably a bit dearer to maintain but the grin factor well outweighs that.

I had a good old trawl on the net-nothing but good comments so far. The gearing down idea sounds like a good one.
