I'm just gonna pull it apart anyway and see whats up. Its going to be alot easier than the four strokes so shouldn't be any drama. If I get stuck I can always take the bits somewhere for people to look at eh.
Seriously hit Tim up though he does know his shit.

if they are like the RGV motor and the powervalve falls apart its prob gonna drop into the cylinder and make a little mess

have a look at your reeds as well. start simple. too easy to go assuming something major when its something simple like a vacuum leak... hahah.
does it lose power when you get the noise, or is the power still as linear with the noise as it is without?

yea will check alot of things tmoro when I get some day light, plugs out, leak checks etc, it could have just been a misfire/dropping one cylinder as yea when it made the noise it did not make the power. but a couple of times it seemed to sort itself out and made smooth clean power with no noise. and it didn't matter the gear. being smoother with the throttle helped though. I really only rode it about 7km I think. it was at operate temp though.

yeah I dont even think rebuild kits are too bad price wise, and with a new bike, it doesnt hurt to pull the fucker apart and give it a good looking over anyways. I never trust a seller when they say what its had done etc. I try to do a service in the first week of ownership so I know for sure.

At least if you take it apart and do shit like checking the reeds and plugs, clean powervalves etc etc etc, then youll know the basic shit has all been done, then if the noise persists, the basic stuff has already been checked, and you can get on with diagnosing shit like piston slap haha

    haha your sharp! haha

aww im all greasy from gunk thats coming off the engine and frame... someone has not looked after this poor RS. I'm amazed everything still works on it haha..

need a cup of tea then off to town for more WD40 and to find replacement screws to fix all the tings that were held on with cable ties and electrical tape.

I like that someone has wrapped the brakelines very tightly with some sort of rubber tape.. you think he was making cheap reinforced brake lines?, kinda like braided lines, bit stiffer? hehe luv Kiwiland.

I also enjoyed the free pair of socks that were in the little storage compartment in the tail - score!

I peeled off the blue shit on the brake lines and turns out they are steel braided lines all round. Not sure why previous person has covered them in blue tape though.. My fireblade also has braided lines which have clear plastic tubes over them. Whats the reason? maybe to stop the steel braids fraying or something? anyway.. I don't really care haha.

Yip socks were rather stiff haha..
