    We were Yamaha Dealers waaaaaaaay back when I started here, and they were quite difficult to deal with then.

    The NZ motorcyle trade seems to be quite unique when it comes to the manufacturers changing outlets. Just observations I can remember in Wgtn;

    Honda went from Motorad (MR) to Motomart (MM)
    KTM went from MM to TSS
    Yamaha went from MR to TSS
    Triumph went from Wgtn Motorcycles to MR
    Moto Guzzi went WMC- Sawyers-Scooterrazzi (not sure on their name)
    MV went from MM to MR
    Aprilia went from TSS to MR
    Back further there were other Honda and Yamaha dealers based in the CBD no longer trading.
    BMW went from MR to MM

    Probably more but who's counting.

    Do Suzuki or Yamaha have restraint of trade arrangements? Phil Turnbull must have been an anomaly.

    Haldanes dropped Yamaha for Suzuki because they didn't have the product range and were going broke relying on Ducati.

    It will be a brave dealer that takes Yamaha on. On the other side of the coin, does Stu have something else lined up or is he going to live on KTM and Hyosung?

    Actually two brands that hold a decent margin, I suppose he probably could.

    Yamaha in New Zealand has behaviour that intrigues me. Look at their web site and note the "range" of models available. Now look at Yamaha Australia's web site, noting its range of models.

    Now do a model search on Motorcycle Trader for the models listed in Australia and not in New Zealand and note how many of those you find are brand spanking new. OK Yamaha New Zealand, why are you selling new bikes that aren't listed on your web site? And why don't you list a RRP, like every other new bike distributor does?

    Jaysus. Have good relations with you both, fricken would have preferred he took Kwak or Trump off MR.
