    Anodising in or near Wellington?

Can anyone recommend a good anodiser in or near Wgtn? I am looking at getting pegs, levers, brackets etc done..possibly also looking at changing the exterior colour of a new muffler any ideas or thoughts on that too would be appreciated.....

Well here's a thought or idea; not all allys are suitable for anodising. You can look up which types are, can't remember but think its 5 series (or 6 the other way). Either way you are unlikely to know what you are startign with. But a clue is that most cast allys don't anodise very well. Muffler cover might be most likely to be ok.

I have used both ESL Industries in Miramar and Powder Coating Services Ltd (http://www.powdercoatingservices.co.nz/) in Petone.

I would recommend the later as the quality of their work is better. They also have a wider range of colours and finishes compared to ESL Industries.

We've had quite a bit done by Powder Coating Services and they have always been really good.

Worth the drive and pretty reasonably priced too. Got some springs done 2 weeks ago and it only cost about $100 which I was surprised at as they were big buggers for the monster truck

You are kidding me,a bunch of rock apes work at powder services in petone, and couldn't give a f**k about your m/c parts I gave up on them as had to keep returning parts to be redone, finally found somebody who cared about what they where doing and that is POWDER SURFACES in upper hutt, Burt the owner is a hot rodder and drag racer so has an idea how people want there parts done and he was also telling me a couple of weeks ago that he now has a high temp black powder for exausts but I haven't been able to try it yet and his prices are really good.

when i went their all they had to help was a clown who, when i handed over a previously bead blasted part that had a light surface rust on it, told me they had no way of cleaning the surface. OK i've got a bead blaster so will redo it and coat it in CRC or similar, what would he wipe it down with before powdercoating, a rag was the answer...

The guy I use in palmy is really on to it (Elite Powder coaters), and contracts work out to a sandblaster when required. I got rims and two engine side covers blasted and powdered (along with a new sprocket cover) for $180. And him and the sandblaster know not to touch the bearing surfaces etc.

Palmerston North might be a bit far to go, but thought I'd add my 2c for perspective anyway.
