The DVD will be released at the end of the year (December-ish - Santa, you listening?) but I'm sure I also read that TV3 is going to be showing some of it prior to that (pretty sure I read all that on the herald website, so do a search there).

As for Russell Crowe, he was born in Australia (thank god) so they deserve to claim him. They can keep their hands off Ben & Josh. Hmm, maybe they'd like Tim Shadbolt & Winston. hehehe

Got back from the screening just a few minutes ago.
It was a touching story. It was made even more special by having Janeen and the director and producer there; they spoke a bit after the film and answered some questions.

    Missed you there Erik.
Bloody great docco, screening later this year on TV3 they say...
I'd never heard of him before, but the guy was good!
Very touching seeing Janeen there and speak about her life, soo sad she has never got over him or forgiven herself either.
It's more a love story and fond memoried than a motorbike movie, but translates ver well what it was like in the paddock 'back in the day'.

I tried a search on the herald website, but came up blank. I'm still convinced it's coming out around December and that a "special" docu will screen before then (i.e. cut down). I dunno, I read it somewhere, but I guess we'll have to keep our eyes open. Almost considered buying TW for the article, still might out of interest

At the end of the screening yesterday someone asked about when it would be on tv and when the DVD would be available.
I think it was the producer that said they had a deal with TV3 and TV3 will be showing an edited version in the last quarter of this year.
He also said that they can't release a DVD until after it's been shown on TV3 and that they hadn't yet sorted out who was going to produce the DVD. But they did say they were hoping it would be ready around the end of the year and that it would probably have some extra footage (possibly more about the bike).
