I have brought one of these for my daughter to learn on while her older brothers get a neat 125 to ride this xmas... So if it breaks, I too will take it back as it has a warranty. If the same fault appears I might just complain as I have a right too.

On that note, before you run it, stick a small filter from a mower shop on it. Might save you plenty of dicking about. Just take the fuel hose in to get the right size (although generally they're 3/16" ID).

Thankfully he's a real man and can figure out the difference between major engineering faults and the risk (as with anything mechanical) that that parts can fail.
If you want quality, man up, spend the money and purchase from a reputable brand.
If you buy cheap shit.... Deal with it. It's not hard to clean a carb, or change a spring, or replace minor parts. If you can't manage that, then don't buy one!

Have you ever read what a warranty covers?
I can fix and do maintain my bikes/truck/van, but this is under warranty and the warranty will be void if anyone else except for a qualified bike mechanic tries to fix it...
I never said it was quality, If it breaks and lasts out the warranty period, then guess what I can use my mancard as u say. But until then I don't have to!!!!

Its the smart thing to do, Get it fixed at their expense until such cover expires, Doesn't matter if its a $600 bike or a $26000 bike, The obligation is the same,and I'd imagine anyone with a brand new $260000 would be back down the dealership instantly if it failed in an hour, Not pulling it apart to prove they are a real man.
If they provide a complete replacement on the spot then thats even better, Go back for a third I say.
And if your partner is a real man then you are in no position to confiscate his bike or his balls, No matter what decision he makes on mechanical repairs.

I agree and disagree. If it's something that is of expected high quality and you have paid for quality, then yes. Take it back and get the manufacturer/sales people to sort it out.
I wouldn't expect anything less, if I purchased a $10'000 brand new mx bike, that if something was wrong (manufacturers defects) that the seller/manufacturer would put it right.
Simply because if I'm spending that kind of money, I clearly am looking for quality. I expect it, I've paid for it and I chose to do so because I wanted to know it was reliable and fit for the purpose to which I intend it.
But when you are talking about Warehouse crap... then no. I disagree. When you buy from the Warehouse, and spend $600 on a motorbike, you are purchasing a disposable toy.
You should be well aware of this fact before you even walk through those big red doors.
The Warehouse do not stock anything of any decent quality as a rule.
Pretty much unwritten that yes, you will get a bargain.
Yes you will come out with a whole lot more 'stuff' for you dollar.
But it's also pretty unwritten that if you can get something purchased from The Warehouse to survive the trip home, then you are doing well.
As for your comment about taking his mancard, my point completely went over your head didn't it..... If I was to have to confiscate it, it would mean he's not behaving like a real man, hence he wouldn't deserve it *scratches head*
Also, he's sitting here chuckling away at this (he sits next to me you see) and his comment was that I could quite happily stick them in my handbag if he acted like that. So yes, I have every right.... I even have permission!
Thankfully, he has never ever done anything like that in 15 years, so can't imagine it happening anytime soon. There are good reasons I put up with his shopaholic-toy-purchasing ways. He's not stupid being one of them.
