Yep, lots of flooding in the area already and more heavy rain to come, so this flood could be a good-un.
I was out on the mtb this morn playing in the floodwater and numerous puddles, this froggie was is his element.

Decided to stick in the office today & catch up on bookwork. Big slip round Rocks Rd (waterfront) & Nelmac staff are watching as the manholes are bubbling along the low lying Vanguard st. With the King tide & rain it may be a bit soggy in town.
The Brook looked like the upper reaches of the Ganges at lunchtime. We discussed how easy it would be to drown like many have in the last few weeks tramping. Easy to underestimate the power of the water from the bank...

So who wants to go for ride today?

Very true, have seen big burly blokes knocked off their feet in (seemingly small) raging water.

Been out to jobs in Richmond, Princes Drive, Wakapuaka today.
One place got a call from their son saying a slip had just removed his front deck and missed the lounge by half a metre.
The house is over 30m from the hillside.

    It's wet.

Jenni txt'd saying the TDC was in "All hell breaking loose" mode and she may have to go back in tonight.

"This weather was forecast so we presume people would have been aware and put off any trips they had planned," she said.

MetService has issued a heavy rain warning and said the region could expect 300 to 400mm of rain in the ranges west of about Motueka until lunchtime tomorrow and 150 to 250mm in the remainder of Nelson.
