Perhaps you should realise that the issue you allude to is not just a Northern problem, it's countrywide. Down here, we are well and truly aware of it, Central Otago is littered with roads like that. Difference is, is that the majority of riders are aware of the conditions and ride to them. I myself had a mishap on shiny seal a couple of years ago and broke my leg, difference is that I blamed my in-attention to the conditions, not the road surface.
Only a Bad Tradesman blames his tools for his fuckups.
We all have our opinions on this subject, but we all must agree to disagree!
May I wish you all a "Merry Christmas and a Orsum New Year!"
Special thoughts go out the our fallin brothers, may you all have a speedy recovery and take care.
You silly buggers, dont you know this is the century of " no personal responsibility". Someone else is always at fault.
The problem with the tradesman line is that not everyone riding a motorcycle is a 'tradesman'.
I'm not pointing at the crew in this video, but there are a lot are part timers, newbies, and the inexperienced out there - not doing anything wrong.
But as long as the standard of roading continues to decline these types of incidents will continue to occur. 'That' is blameworthy.
Considering the number of bikes on the ride ... three went down. On an apparently crappy road. Crappy enough for bikes to go down ... but ONLY three. The rest must have been too skilled NOT to bin on such a crappy road ...
THREE fucked up. Any others that did ... got lucky ... and got to ride home.
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
Crews/part timers/newbies/inexperienceDavid your confusing motorcycling with Greenpeace and Whales. All said n done saftey campaigns/his vis vests and the internet full of experience hasnt changed a thing, nor will picture perfect roads. When will people just accept motorcycling for what it is.
