Let's take an already underpowered, overweight, poor handling bike, and fuck it even more!

I've never ridden one. The weight puts me off. Just like fat chicks.

For a bloke that has only just graduated to a 600 and is scared to carry a pillion.....you have a pretty strong opinion about a type of bike you have no experience riding

Ape hangers. Always looked uncomfortable to me.
While I am not a fan, if I did long bars I would probably bring them back more, and change the seat to a "lean back" style.

I prefer to stick with bikes that go around corners properly and stop quickly. Although I wouldn't mind riding a Harley XR1200.

Most Harleys are cruisers - they're designed for a certain style of riding. Generally they do it exceptionally well.

Much like your sports bike - if you gave it to the off-roaders to take over a mountain range they'll soon tell you how crap it is.

    Just read this here http://www.goingfaster.com/angst/noharley2.html

It's a long read but it's worth looking at.

Do they not have problems at WOF time with stuff like that? I mean if you roll up for your WOF in a car with a steering wheel the size of a CD or to go the other extreme and have a steering wheel the size of a car tyre I'm sure the WOF man would be all frowny.
