Well ... that acident ... and hundreds like it, are the main reason the ACC stat's are as they are. And as that quad rider was most likely riding an unlicenced bike (NO ACC levies paid)... not to mention, probably not wearing ANY safety gear ... the levies you (all ... well those that DID pay ) paid, go to aid him ... and many such like ...

Yes. Recorded as a motorcycle accident. Used to justify the rise in ACC levies.

It gets worse ... it is also recorded as "no other vehicle involved" ... in police files ...

    Lies damm lies & statistics.

Stats are only ever as accurate as the agenda they're being used for wants them to be.

I don't see any reference to this being considered a 'road' accident.
From what little I could gather from the brief article, I think the most interested party will be OSH, as this is more likely a workplace accident, (note the article specifically mentions it happened on a farm) and will be added to the 'farm workers' account.
Just my guess, I don't know anything more than what I read, but hey, lets not jump to wild conclusions on no information.
BTW any claims resulting from crashes on beaches on whatever sort of registered or unregistered bikes are likely to end up in the road account, as all NZ beaches are classed as roads AFAIK.

There is NO road/farm workers account. A "relationship" with an ACC employee confirmed it. (also from viewing MY OWN file )

    MOTORCYCLE accident. End of story.

Is this so? I was wondering about this as farmers tend to pay a large ACC levy per employee.

As do most employers ... At best, it would be a "workplace" accident. One of the reasons a lot of landowners dont allow access for motorcyclists ... for fear any off gets a "workplace" listing, with an increased levy to go with it.

But with the link given ... that would most likely be a lifestyle block owner ... who dont pay levies.
