Restricted waiting time increase

Hi,

I was just reading about how from 1 October 2012, the waiting time for over-25s on restricted licenses will be increased to 18 months.

How does over-25s who get restricted licenses before October 1? Will we be allowed to stay with the 6 month waiting time, or will we all blow out to 18 months?

Hmm, might have to do that defensive riding course and sit the full in early August :P

Maybe or maybe not. I spoke to someone in the rider licensing section at NZTA and they told me it's still undecided till Feb-Mar 2012.

So NZTA hasn't decided yet whether over-25s already holding a restricted license as at Oct 1 2012 will stay with the old 3/6month wait, or move to the new 18 month waiting period.
