Big ups to Coma's team mate Pedrero Garcia for helping the fallen rider, I guess the chopper was handy too.
That was a hard crash, hes lucky young man to not have done more damage to himself. Looked like his rear end hit a bump, suspension rebounded, over the bars he went. Great to see the other riders stop to give assistance. I guess they all know at any minute that could be them
    ....wherezz that track go

Apparently he rode to the next checkpoint or something like that before pulling out too.

He will still be happy with this as there are still 11 more race days to go and so far has had no major problems which is great.

Darryl finished in 36th today and moved to 35th overall so the two will leave just a minute or so apart tomorrow.

Spoke to Chris he said it was the best day he has had yet, lots of fun, says everyone is still rolling along fine. He went the wrong way just after Waypoint 3, apparently lots of people did!
The Dakar.com ranking page now shows him as 30th.

Waypoint 3 dropped to 149th place 1 hours 40 min behind the leader....
Either he has had a mechnical issue, got lost, puncture or Iritrack has stuffed up. But I doubt it.....
Must be something that has happened.....Damn!

Hope he is ok, looking at live timing he is a bit behind. Although he did just show up on WP6.

Edit: If anyone wants to follow progress, this is a good site http://trackingdakar.com/index.php?s...=5&country=NZL

Finished the stage in 104th, now lies 53rd overall. He's not doing too bad for a Dakar novice

I lost HEAPS of time I know, but it was all fixable and luckily I was fine. Of course I wish it didn’t happen but it’s not the end of the world and I am just going to get on with the rest of the race.
