righto just put in a new piston ring, while i was waiting for the ring to turn up i figured i would be pro-active and inspect the clutch (one of "those" jobs) all the plates, fibers looked good no discoloration or anything suspect, the basket however pretty badly notched up, basically i hear you can get away with filing down the notches, so my question is how much slop between the plates and basket is to much? i will be looking at replacing the basket over winter, which brings me to my next questions, 1. after market or oem? 2. special tools needed? 3. should i also replace inner hub and pressure plate?
