    Let the fun begin...

Genie became the proud owner of an 'L' plate today. It is attached to my little Ninja 250.

Here's how my day went....woke up at 2.00am to hear the rain pouring down. Didn't much care, this is Nelson the sun will come out.

Went back to sleep and awoke at 6.30am to find it's still raining. Still didn't care.

Got up and did the norm with the children and sorted some sewing, packed up the children for their trip to the pool, popped down to the bike shop and gave them my fat cheque and in return they gave me my absolutely gorgeous Rev-it Jacket, Pants, Gloves and Boots. Oh and a nice little Shoei helmet just in case.

Off to drop the children at a friends for a birthday and swimming, quick supermarket visit and bike will be all ready to go at 1.00pm.

1.45pm and where's my bike? Must not be impatient and patience is a fine virtue. I ring the shop....oh it's getting it's VTNZ thingy done and being reged. OK....another hour later and where's my bike????

Oh look here it is....oh it's so shiny and I feel like a magpie. I like shiny things.

Well, the leather gear is on, the helmet is on and it's pouring with rain...I still don't care. Out the driveway and down the road, shit where's the brake, where's the indicator, a moment of complete blondeness, breath in, breath out....ah there's the brake.......easy peasy.

Cruised around in the pouring rain, got super wet and still didn't care. Had a nice little play, getting the feel of the beast, stalled a couple of times, couple of gear mishaps and got the bike wet and dirty. Think I might like it wet and dirty!!!!

Called into to see a couple of friends, they be proud of me too.

Home and put the beast away, walked out of the garage and the sun was shining. I still don't care. I have a bike. And at the end of the day I still have a bike. I'll also have a bike tomorrow.

great story, very exciting getting a brand new machine. Good on you. A dedicated all weather rider.
When my Tbird was nearing pickup from the shop last year, there was a little bit of drizzle around. I seriously thought about leaving it there another day until it stopped. Luckily it did, and I got it home dry.
(it has since been caught in a couple of downpours)

did the same thing with my 4th (i think) bike, soaking wet, numb fingers etc, bloody fantastic ride though. And dont worry, you'll still get that great feeling whether its your first or five thousandth ride
